Adding & Removing Variants¶
After the tertiary pipeline auto-populates the report with the variants it surfaced, a curator can manually adjust the set: add a variant the pipeline missed, or remove one that shouldn't be reported.
Adding a variant¶
- Open the order's Variant Miner tab.
- In the all-variants view (not the report-attached view), find the variant — search by gene symbol, HGVS, or chromosome:position.
- Click Add to report.
The variant is added to this order's report. Adding a variant does not change the underlying variant record — it only attaches the variant to this report.
Removing a variant¶
- Open the order's Variant Miner tab.
- In the report-variants view, find the variant.
- Click Remove from report and confirm.
The variant is detached from the report and remains visible in the all-variants view, so you can re-add it later if needed.
Auto-population runs once
Variants are auto-populated when the report is first opened. If you remove an auto-populated variant, it is not re-added on a later visit.
When you can do this¶
Adding and removing variants happens during the Review stage of the order, and requires that you are the assignee of that stage. See Users & Roles for the full order-access matrix and what "assignee" means.
